Homelink Rpo Code

Ok well I am going to be going to the dealer and reprogram the truck for a DIC and TPMS. I purchased a GM homelink overhead consul. It has a three wire plug and mounted right up. However, the unit does not work correctly. The lights on the homelink buttons come on when the doors open but not the map lights. You need to turn on a map light in order to get the homelink to transmit. I was wondering if there was just a simple RPO code that would change the wires around from the main computer. I found two different RPO codes for this. One is UG1 and the other is ZM9. I do not know which one is a three wire and which is a 5 wire. Any help out there???

Homelink is self contained, it only uses 12V from the vehicle. I haven't had mine apart, but it sounds like the wires are flipped. I can't imagine there being a special wiring consideration on non-homelink equipped vehicles, it's just an unswitched hot.

Is this plug polarized? Or, there may be an intermediate connector that routes that circuit to the right pin.

Yea I found UG1 and ZM9 on google too. I know the unit is self contained but the wires do different things based on homelink and non homelink units. I don't know how they are switched, just have to go in to the dealer to get some things reprogrammed and thought that might be an easy fix.

The description in the original post sounds like you have door-switched power and probably 2 full time powers. It just seems that they're on the wrong pins. Neither of these items use much power. Unless for some reason you need to preserve the integrity of this plug, I would just cut the wires and splice to the correct connection. IMO.
