Bouncing Idle

2001 GMC 3500 6.6 dsl. the idle bounces while idling. You can hardly see it on the tach but you can hear it and feel it and you can see it in the oil pressure gauge. I would probably say it goes up about 50 rpm. does anyone have any info on this???

fairly typical surge, caused by too much feedback in the fueling tables. It can be fixed in the programming using EFILive. I have been doing this for years.

i've run across a few with erratic crank sensor signals due to reluctor wheel loose on crank sproket. not sayin thats it but dont rule it out
