Gmc Jimmy Heated Seat Element

I had been having a problem with my heated seats in my 2000 GMC Jimmy SLT for some time. I took it in for repair to the dealer and they first told me that the problem I was seeing was with the switch, but upon further inspection, now it is the element (an $800 fix).

 

I'm not 100% on this, but I could have swore I noticed heat coming from the seat for a brief moment the other day. How could it possibly be the element if I was actually getting heat?

 

Also, I found an entire seat replacement from a used 2000 Chevy Blazer S10 that matches my seat exactly for $100. Would this seat be interchangable with the seat in my vehicle?
