Trailer Brakes Hook-up...

I just bought an '08 GMC Sierra 1500 HD. It has the 6.0 liter engine and the integrated trailer brake controller. Problem is, I hooked it up to my trailer and the brakes aren't working on it... I read in the manual that these wires have to be hooked up at the dealership.

Is there anybody who knows how to hook these up...? I'd prefer not to give the dealership any more money for awhile.

they will not charge you,go see your salesperson, they will make it right ,they will charge it to the dealer internally,I do not remember hooking any wire up unless it is an aftermarket trl brk controler install, take it in,warrenty would cover it anyway,go ,go now,lol

Agree! I have an 07 1500 without the intergrated Trailer Brake, and when I ran into a snag installing my Prodigy Brake Controller because the Power Leads were not already connected to the wires under the Dash, my Dealership took care of it for me at no charge! Take it back and have them make it right!

or just do it yourself, it takes all of 5 minutes. the wires are zip tied, they connect on studs at the front of the fuse panel under the hood, two different sizes of studs, yes, the wires cross (come from different sides than the stud they go on).

no he has the integrated controller ,the wire under the hood is for an aftermarket controller, the harness is ready to go for the controller and the wire powers it up,I cannot remember hooking up anything for integral controllers

Thanks for all of the replies everybody! ... I'm going in to have the dealer look at it. I opened the fuse block under the hood and could not see any stray wires... I'll keep you all updated as to progress...

The wiring harness (under the hood part) is supposedly taped under the brake reservoir.
