I have a 79' GMC K25 and my son was wondering how big a tire he could put under it with out a lift ? it has 245/75R16 now on it he was wondering if a 33" would fit or do you think they might rub at all ? how big do you think before he would run into problems ? Thanks

from my experince 33 fit fine as long as the wheels aren`t offset to much then they swing and touch fenders on turns, i had 35s on my 80 with a four inch lift and they would touch on turns and taking big bumps (off roading) hard on the fenders, but fun truck!!

I had a '79 Chevy K10 and I fit 33"s stock no problem. I think they rubbed back of fender at full turn but that's it. I wheeled it a little and would rub a little when flexed a lot.

I'm sure being a 3/4 ton gives a touch more clearence too.

You can get 10.5" wide 33s that might give you more clearence when turning. I have 33x10.5 on my current '77 K20, its lifted 4" though.
