Which of these should I do next. Plz dont suggest any other tune as I do not think I will see a justifiable difference between the prices and I would like to keep my old PCM as a "backup". I eventually plan on doing all of these. They are all relativly the same price (tune is a little more but I am leaning towards it ATM a/w).

So far I have:

  • K&N CAI (w/ modded 3" tube going to tow hook area)
  • Granettili MAF (father put it in)
  • "Ravin" exhaust (Midas house special but sounds better than others we had)
  • MSD 6A Ignition + Wiring + iridium spark plugs (Denso? again father did)
  • HID's in lows

Thanks for the suggestions.

EDIT >> Decided to put links to what I'd be getting . . .

Wait4Me Tune (economy w/ haul-a$$ button)

LS1 Fans (when I find a good deal on Ebay)

Stainless Steel Brake Lines

HID for Fogs (Matches the others)

Drop in a 6.0!

Out of the list, I'd go with the tune. Best bang for the buck.

Not with gas prices today  . . . haha I just noticed I have 1/2 the miles you do

Go with a custom tune, phone Jesse and tell him what you've done and he'll make the tune to take advantage of your mods. I'm happy with mine.

definetly tune it!!! But I would call Allen at Nelson performance.. Check out nelsonperformance.com Not a big fan of Wait4me tunes or Jesse

Thanks for reminding me lol . . what does the covette servo do? . . is it easy/cheap? . . I've never had a tune and dont think Ill get a major improvement for the extra $100 or so it costs. . . If I stumble upon some money later on Ill probably upgrade but I'd like to start with a Wait4Me. (Though they are sort of a pain in the a$$ to talk to over email)

Agreed. Just call him. That works best for most tuners. And nothin' beats a custom tune. Especially one that is quite affordable.

i paid 320 for mine from w4me with the computers.... 375 for the nelson and what a difference...the servo holds the band a lot tighter so there is less friction...less heat...longer life. and no 1-2 slide shift...she's nice and firm now..not too much but when your into it you feel it. Best 30 bucks ive spent so far. With the tune and the servo this thing is a beast. Took the trans shop 30min and 45 bucks.

Awesome. . . thanks for the servo info. Ill do some more research on it.

and the Wait4Me is $160 shipped + I keep the old PCM so thats why I dont think I'd notice a $200 difference.

160....huh...well for the gmt-900's its 320 i guess..for the ecm and tcm. I kept my stock computers just in case...always a good idea for warranty purposes...good luck in whatever you choose. The servo is worth it...you wont be disappointed.

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
