Opnions On Yokohama Avid Suv Tires

After 4 months and 7500 miles I can't take it anymore. The General Ameritrac tires are coming off in a few days when my new Centerline wheels get here.

 

My new wheels are going to be 20x8.5 and I'm planning to go with 275/55-20 tires since those are the factory option size on the Silverado.

 

I'm planning on the Yokohama Avid SUV tires

I've always had good luck with Yokohama and I can get the tires locally for $130 each.

 

I live in South Florida, the truck will never see snow or go off-road. I have BF Goodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S tires on my Mustang, but don't expect my truck to handle like a car. Bf Goodrich does not make a 275/55-20 tire though, and I don't want to upsize to the A/T Ko.

 

I also don't want to spend a fortune on tires.

I have no idea on Yokohamas, I got Bridegstone Alenza 275/60/20s on my Centerlines

My wife has a 08 RAV4 Sport (235/55-18) that has Yokohama's on it, they seam ok, but we have already decided when it comes time to replace we will go with the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza. So I would like to here how you guys like them (winter traction too because some of us live in the midwest).

The Dueler Alenza is great improvement over the stock 20 inch GY LS2 in just about every way. The traction on snow and ice is better, they are much quieter, and the overall feel is confidence inspiring when running it hard on windy roads...the only thing I cannot comment on yet is the wet traction, but if you read reviews on the web about them, it is very, very positive...

I've always liked this style of wheel.

 

I put black bullitt wheels on my Mustang and the truck looked so plain with its stock wheels parked next to it.

I have some Yokohama Parada's on mine and i really like them. Really quiet, smooth, and great traction. I have 305-45/R22 which at that size they ran $200 a peice but id recommend them.

Everyone that I know that had yokohamas on their truck that I know replaced them early because the tread got hard and they were suicide in rain, or they wore out in 15000 miles with normal driving. I wont buy any Yokohamas or Toyo, etc. Firestone, and BFG are about it for me.
