jpshea88 Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 My 6.0l VVT runs like absolute garbage. Chevy said it runs like that to compensate the horsepower. Should I be getting a tune from wait4me to solve this problem? By the way it's an '07 avalanche, pics coming soon.
cerbomark Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 you are not really clear when you say"runs like garbage". If you are talking about perofrmance, yes get a tune, it will help a little.
jpshea88 Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 it has a rough idle, Chevy told me it was a characteristic of the engine, 'it compensates for horsepower'. It hauls ass and idles rough, considering I live in the city and spend most of my time idling, this doesn't make me very happy. I think GM went half-ass on the programming of this motor and want to get a tune to see if it will solve my problem.
jpshea88 Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Thanks for the replies! I talked to the wait4me guy and explained the situation. He said that I have a mechanical issue like a lifter or spark plug quit on me. The engine idles rough and below 500 rpm's, then the needle jumps around and settles back below 500. It also skips out and the transmission jerks while i'm at a stop. He said the tune will get me hp, but not a smoother idle. I will get it anyway, but I won't be using it as my daily driver. I just bought a new Navigator. Pics still coming soon. I've been busy
cerbomark Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 my wait4me tune made the idle considerably smoother.
VMAXNY Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 my wait4me tune made the idle considerably smoother. Mark, i have not forgot about you we need to do our tune test some time soon Jamie
