I have a 2007 Silverado, that has all the accessaries. It was purchased in Oct. The battery goes dead once a month. The dealer has charged the battery once and replaced it twice. On star had to send someone out to jump start twice, since the last battery replacement. Anyone have an ideas, GM and Dealer can't find anything wrong, but batteries.

Find a dealer who cares. They need to troubleshoot the electrical system, not just throw parts at it. Mark.

I have the same problem as you. They put the full pump relay on the same relay as the fog light. I dont get it. Its been like this for about 3-4 weeks. No problem so far. Watch this tomorrow AM my truck will be dead

It has been to two dealers, one in WV and one in FL. Never find anything but battery. Of course, if battery is dead, whatever the problem is, will no longer be on.

Do you park in a garage? Does it seem to happen when you are not parked at home? Do you leave a cell phone charger or something like that plugged in? Any and all details may help lead to a possible cause. Also post your vin.

My 07 Buick Lucerne did it about 3 weeks ago. :D There are I believe 2 TSB's out - 1 for the BCM (Body Control Module) grounds and 1 for BCM re-flash. I believe the trucks have the same problem. I asked the service advisor to have the tech check it(TSB's) but the paperwork didn't show it was checked. :D I'd have them check that posibility out.

No it is not parked in a garage. It doesn't matter if it is at home or out. It had to be jumped at the end of a work day. Nothing is plugged in. We made sure of that after the first tow in. Nothing out of the ordinary the first three times that it was towed in. The last two times that on star had to send someone out. The vehicle had set for two days. My son started it and ran it for about 5 minutes, shut it off. The day morning it would not start, it did take a jump those two times. The first three times it would not even take a jump. It is frustrating, because GM is not helping with the problem. It's like they get their money for the vehicle, then they are done. They say well have it towed in next time it happens. I am not comfortable putting the vin number on a site. I'm not sure what that would help. But, I will take any suggestions, short of trading.

Well,

Here we are another month or 4 weeks. The thing was towed in again today. The last time it was driven was on Thursday. Nothing plugged in, go out today and it will not start.

Called Dealer and GM, they can't help with rental car until Monday. The warranty is what helped sell us on this vehicle. But, according to GM, only service can authorize a rental vehicle. Good thing we were not 2000 miles away from home. Without vehicle again. Glad that we paid $39,000 for this vehicle. What ever happened to customer service?

Do you think they will be able to find anything wrong this time. NOPE, just the battary. Should know for sure on Monday.

Anyone have any ideas, GM seems to have decided that they have their money, forget the customer.

You should feel lucky man. I drive my 2007 Silverado just about every day and I have had to have it jumped twice since the first of March. The dealer told me to turn my fuzz buster off at night. What a joke, since the fuzz buster pulls hardley anything. Last weekend, I had the radio on while I was working on my trailer. The idiot lights on the dash wouldn't even come on. I wonder if there is a relay that goes off when the voltage drops under a specific voltage. Once it has been jumped, it seems to start just fine after that. I was thinking that maybe the battery wasn't big enough to handle everything, since I have a couple of electric/hydrolic lifts in the back to load my scooter. I'm beginning to think there is a serious problem with it. I have run accross a couple of other people who are having the same problem here @ GM-Trucks.com.

Our 07 is still in the shop. I think they are finally puzzled as to what is going on. We are still waiting to hear something. We have been without it this time, since Saturday. As soon as they tell us something I will post. Maybe it will help others in the same situation.

There's a lot of parasytic drain to these new trucks. That's part of the convenience of on-star, headlight run-on. etc. I found setting up a dual battery system (you have the extar tray already) using the battery back up system from atct-guardiansys.com was the easiest most economical way to eliminate the dead battery syndrome. It took me an hour to install mostly because I was fussing and wanted to look cool. The system provides everything to safely and effectively install a second battery and never worry. You can run all your accessories off it and never worry about the starting battery. I have 2 years on mine and no more problems.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
