Tahoe Trailering Question

I have a 2000 Tahoe 2wd & was considering buying a 20' + 5' deep vee enclosed trailer with a loaded gross weight of about 7700 lbs & tongue weight about 1200 lbs. The short tongue of the trailer will not acccept a load leveling hitch. I was planning to purchase a heavier reciever hitch with a jordan brake controller & look into a trans cooler. Ther trailer will probably be used a couple of times a year but one trip is about 700 miles one way mostly flat roads with possible strong side winds at times. What is best oe recommended rear suspension upgrades and am I off in a wreck with the tahoe as a tow vehicle or marginal with load & tongue weight ? Thanks

7700 is a lot for a 2 wd Tahoe, is it a 4 dr or 2 dr? i would think its capable but you may want to drive slowly and carefully without a load leveling hitch. when you mean it wont accept it, are you saying tow on the ball on the bumper or on a reese style hitch with receiver?

yeah a lot of those v nose trailer wont accept load levelers, im looking into a 24' vnose right now, but i have a 3/4 ton so im not worried about it. but i think one of the best things you can do is try if possible to keep your trailer cargo centered around the tandem axles of the trailer so the tahoe doesnt sag too much! Now you CAN get a friction sway control that mounts to the trailer frame and connects to a small "mini" looking ball next to your big ball on your reciever, that vnose should have pleanty of room to mount one of those. Good luck!

The tahoe is a 4 door. the trailer tongue is too short to mount a load leveling hitch I am told as arms are too long on hitch.

I was planning to check out amount of actual in use sway before looking into sway control options. Thanks for your reply.
