I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 5.3L ext cab short bed with an AEM Brute Force intake, Flowmaster 40 series American Thunder dual exhaust, and a hypertech programmer. What can i change my settings to on the programmer so i can GO FASTER!?

Unfortunately, not much. If it supports dual octane, go with 93 octane. Otherwise, if you need more, I'd strongly suggest a custom tune. Handhelds are great, but are somewhat limited.

EDIT: Click here for the Custom Tune Thread. Has list of all the custom tune options. If you want more info, search away!

Good luck with the HyperTech III. I have one and I made some changes but none will be as noticable as a custom tune. I plan on getting mine tuned and selling the HyperTech III on eBay or something like that. I did change the tire size, shift points, MPH and RPM governors but a custom tune can do all that and more. If you just bought it, take it back, get your money back, and get yourself a custom tune! The only way to go. Just search through the pages of this forum and you will find tons of info and comments from some of the really good tuners for our trucks.

I appreciate the info. i already knew that the programmer was very limited. Thanks anyway man. My problem is i am in Germany right now and i believe the cheapest tune over here is 700 euro which is about 1k dollars. The programmer was the cheapest way to beat up on the BMW 318, 323's, and some 325's as well as the typical ricers. lol. Ill do some research on tuning when i get back. What do you all suggest? I love racing at high speeds...at least 160. What gears or motor/ trans work or swap should i go with? i gotta need for speed and kill off those god forsaken mustangs. HELP! BTW Germany sucks for shipping american parts here.

Wow, that's a lot just for a custom tune! Both the Diablo and Flashpaq will get ya a lot more power than the Hypertech. You know, if you're limited to retail solutions. Especially if you can find one on eBay that's willing to ship over there.

I personally had both Hypertech and Flashpaq on my YD and the Flashpaq had way more power across the entire RPM band. I had to ditch it because my particular truck was having shift issues with their tune (that they couldn't resolve). But most seem to be happy with 'em.
