There it is, the Mighty 6.2L with the 6speed auto 403hp and 417 lbs of Torque in a Z71 or a AT.

Also really like that they finally got a backup cammera for the pickups now. I love that camera feature in my Suburban.

It looks like they have finally got all the goodies in this bad boy.

Looks like the 6speed auto is available on 5.3Ls, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines in all cabs.

Scratch that last statement it is very misleading at times reading through these order guides. Turns out that yes that trans is availble with a 5.3l but only in a crew cab, and it is also availble in a Ext. cab but only behind a 6.0L(still an improvemnet over last year) Then since the ext and Reg were in the same colum together and it said "A" for the 6 speed, I was mislead into thinking you could get at least a decent trany in a regular cab for 09', since it seems a given GM will not make a regular cab long bed W/T that can heven forbid haul or tow worth a dam. So those looking at ext/crews, lots of good news in the 09 order guide, anyone like me looking at regular cab options for work/fleet, its the same truck as last year and the year befor, no 6 speed, and no 6.0 or 6.2.

Just went throught the 09 order guides for the Tahoe and Suburbans

Looks like now the Tahoe LTZ is going to continue to have the 6.2L option and for 09 you can also get the part time 4wd with it where the 08 was only available with 6.2 in 2wd only. Looks like 6 speeds are availble accross the board.

Here is something that just boggles the mind, the larger suburban does not have a 6.2L option period.

The Suburban does get the 6 speed auto accross the board.

This really does not make sens that the little brother to the Suburban the tahoe gets the larger 6.2L engine option. However you can still get the 6.0 in a half ton suburban and it does have a 6speed behind it.

I suspect that with the 6speeds being available now that the 4.10s were no longer needed.

The Avalanche is the same as the Suburban, yes to the 6 speed and no to the 6.2L, only the 5.3 and 6.0 will be available.

Just for kicks I went through the Colorado's order guide just to see if they finally gave it a V8, The colorado does now have an optional 5.3L and if you are looking for 410 gears a 4x4 colorado ext, or crew cab has got them. No 6 pseed autos for the Colorado, only the 4 speed auto for it.

Ya see this blows my mind, granted the Colorado's were know for being under powered, so I am sure the 5.3l will solve that, who knows, a 5.3L Colorado 2wd ext cab might be the fastest truck on the market in 09. Thats great for the Colorado truck people

That aside if they can put the engine they use in 90% of the suburbans in the compact pickup, why did the suburban not get the 6.2L like the Tahoe, aslo you still can't get a Z71 suburban with anything other than a 5.3, if you want the 6.0, it has to be combined with the auto ride suspension system and not the Z71 suspension, but in the full size pickups, you can only get the 6.2L with a Z71 suspension. ?????? What in the world are they thinking.

not that gm cares but even a 6 speed tranny will not be enough to turn the larger tires of a lifted truck.

I would think the 6.2L option might help Giteeeerrrrr Done. LOL Its just a shame its limitted to the Crew Cab models. A regular cab short bed lifted with some big tires and rims might make a heck of a good offroad combo with a 6.2L.
