Brakes Squeek.

iv started noticeing when I come to a complete stop my brakes are squeeking just a tad bit.. I got little under 9k miles.. should I have them looked at or is it weather related?

Should be weather related at your point. I highly doubt your down to the squeakers yet.

Squeaking brakes seem to be common on GMT900's. I had it but now is gone...the squeak stopped for me after a moutain trip. I was coming off the moutain and by the time i got to the bottom the brakes were smoking (guess i should have shifted just a little lower and slowed down). now, squeak is gone...go figure.

oh and mileage 4k when started, 6k when stopped (for now).

i think ours started around 6000, just had the rear drums and shoes replaced around 17,000 still does is sometimes

Mine have slightly squeeked upon being cold ever since my truck came off the lot. The squeek goes away once they warm up a bit. Brakes remain strong after 9000 miles, however, man they put out more dust than any of my previous vehicles ever have. Wheels stain easily too!

Try a couple hard low-speed stops. Similar to the process that you do when replacing pads/rotors. That should help clean the rotors/pads and make sure the pads are seated correctly. Should also help improve brake performance as well.

 

That's always worked for me whether it was stock or high performance stuff.
