Ordered Truck, Still Waiting!

I ordered a GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT 4x4 back on Dec. 29th 2007, it was suppose to be built before the axle strike but wasn't. My dealer says he cannot tell me when the truck will be built! I believe 4 months is long enough to wait, expecially without any information. Do you fellows have any idea's or thoughts on this problem. Any advice or information would greatly be apprecaited. i as another member tuba pete had same problem i ordered in first week of march and i had mine built the week of april 14th i hounded my dealer until i finaly rec some info Supposely chevy keeps 150day inventory on truck parts and they had that since strike of american axle so i doubt that was reason for your hold up i told my dealer if i didnt get mine in 8 weeks i cancel and buy somewhere else well i hope to have mine del by next week cause it was shipped to Jersey last fri GM better wake up seemss they dont rush for anyone now that toyota passed them in total sales world wide maybe they get off their high horses and give americans better service and communication instead we are GM and we know whats good for you attitude

ill keep you posted but you should push your dealer to look up the production list thgat dealers supposed to rec each week they usually have the production dates on orders they send to manufacture

Tell the dealer to do a nationwide search for a truck with the options you selected anf make it happen or threaten to pull the order and take your business elsewhere. I bet he comes up with an answer for you within 24 hours.

DEfinitely time to start getting loud with your salesman. December is way too long. 4-8 weeks is the usual wait for an ordered truck, and the strike didn't happen till February. You should have had your truck before that.

 

I didn't order mine till the end of February. Last week was week number 8 and they're telling me that they are expecting mine to be delivered this week. We'll see. I found a truck that will suffice in Georgia. It doesn't have everything I want, but's close enough, and I have no trouble driving to Georgia to get it. I have lots of friends there with available temporary living space for me.

I'll give the dealer another couple of weeks, but that's about it. Cripes, I'm even considering a Dodge. $5000 cash back and 0% for 5 years? Holy crap. That about makes it worth it. I've already missed on an two good months of good rebate and financing combos. They aren't that good this month at GM.

I was told mine was built week of the 14th and was transported on fri the 18th was told to call this fri and see if it got to Jersey this week and they stated if at plant they would try to red tag it for me and hopefully have bye next week i gave them 8 weeks and if they didnt get to me i can cancel order I have it in writing if i dont get reply tommorrow ill cancell and wait for 09 as 08hd i lost 3 good rebates and chevy sent me last week a post card for another 1000 even after you made the deal its good till may7th so they better step up cause they will ahve alot inventory to get rid of before the 09s I hope we all get through this cause it sucks so far ;loljerry

When I ordered mine in mid September of last year it took until Dec. 28 for me to get it. It was worth the wait.

Rear view cameras and blue tooth can both be installed in any vehicle now. There isn't much to it. Rear view camera kits aren't that expensive are are very easy to install. Unless you go with a kit that works with an in-dash DVD player. Those are a bit more expensive, and difficualt, but still doable. There's some REALLY nice combos on the market now. I figured I'd give myself a Christmas present and have a camera kit installed, that is of course, if my truck comes in by then.

 

I just have to get mine now. My trade in is almost at 100,000 miles, and I loose way too much on the trade if I go over that. Not to mention the damn thing is falling apart at the seams.

I would have to agree, dealer near me has over 100 silvys on the lot.
