I just bought this truck in early march. But anyway. I noticed that when keying up that the check engine light did not light up(key on engine off). so I thought i'd better check it for dtcs. I found that the light is out and I have a p1336 dtc (crankshaft variation not learned) in the computer. I do not not know if the truck has the original computer it has 152000 miles. I was just wondering if this code was a big deal or if it was ok. The truck seems to run great no misses or hesitation. Should I take it to the dealer to have it looked at?

First off, welcome aboard.

Secondly, I would search in the tech/motor forum for the trouble code. If everything is working good, keep driving her. I have 180k on my truck with the original computer, so I don't think you have a concern there.

This is an easy fix. It sounds like someone has replaced the computer with maybe a tuned unit. CKS Relearn is a simple process, all you have to do is plug it in to a diagnostic computer like the GM Tech system or a good Snap-on unit, run the relearn procedure and all is good. 5 minute process.
