Does anybody know what the posted fuel economy is/was for an 05 gmc sierra crew Z71 4x4 5.3 iron block. Are the ratings assuming that the vehicle is in 4x4 mode? thnx

My '04s window sticker says 15 city/18 hwy....And thats pretty much what I got with it,I had a K1500 Z71 Ext.cab/short-bed,With the 5.3 & 3.73 gears.

Pick up the 2005 Sierra Crew--you won't regret it!! I saw your posts over the past few days...you are really doing your research.

 

My previous truck before my 08 Sierra was a 2006 Sierra, Ext Cab, 4x4, with 5.3. My in-town mpg was a steady 14-17mpg. On the highway, it was a steady 20mpg, occasionally breaking 22mpg a few times.
