Gmx320 + 4 Truck Cams And 2 Trailer Cams Installed

I'm finally done with the installations of the GMX320 (lockpick) and cameras on my 2008 Chevy 2500HD Diesel.

After buying the GMX320 I needed to figure out what camera would work best for me. After extensive research, I decided on the Boyo Vision VTL350. Here is the info link on the camera: http://boyovta.com/products/vtl350.html

Basically with it's 150 degree view, very strong night vision and high color resolution I'm extremely happy. There maybe other cameras out there just as good or maybe even better but for the price point/performance I'm completely satisfied. The other point I want to make is I preferred not to have a mix of cameras. This was important as I want to learn the characteristics of just one then apply it to all I use. To me this is a safety factor.

The setup is as follows: one cam on the front and rear license plates and one cam each mounted to the Cognito suspension brackets for the front torsion bars. Additionally I have mounted the same cameras on the back of my two trailers and actuate it via a subtle switch on the dash. While my picture taking skills leave something to be desired you can very well see the quality of signal coming through. I have no night time shots but believe me they are very good and surprisingly bright.

I can tell you with the lifted truck those side cams help on the highway more so than on city streets (unless you want some spy shots of the cute thing in the car next to you). You will learn to read just how close you actually are or aren't after a while. The other nice item is the ability while underway to sequence between the cameras with the GMX320. Very nice way to check trailer hitch will driving.

I liked this Boyo setup so well I even put one on the wifes Camry hybrid.

See photo's below.

Very nice setup!!!

I would like to have one on the rear of the truck (tailgate spoiler mount) and then one on the rear of my 6x12 trailer.

Did you do all the wiring yourself? If so did you run a seperate wire from the cab to the trailer for the trailer camera? Any info on that switch would be nice too.

I have a lockpick 4.

TIA!

I acutally hired a local shop here in TX as my back is to bad to work on things anymore. The wiring really isn't tough. They did run two lines to each cam, one for power and one for the video.
