Live Tune Advice

Recommended Posts

may get a live tune this week from a former GM tech who now has a performance shop. Dont know what software he uses. What should I look for and/or ask for? Any tips or advice. He said he will save the wait4me tune before he does anything. Thanks.

Just ask for whatever you want.

Does he have sort of a "standard" set of tunes that he does like a lot of the mail-order folks do? And is he going to start from a stock tune or modify the wait4me tune? Either way, it really depends on how specific you want to be. But I'm guessing that if you are going for a tune in person you are looking for max power gains from your current setup. So I'd just start there and have him fine tune everything else to your personal preferences as from as the little things, such shift pressure, shift points, etc.

i think he s going to copy w4me tune and then make changes from there. Copy just in case I tell him the w4me tune was better or we have a problem of some sort???

Don t think he advertises to do mail order stuff, just local stuff I guess. I just want the truck to launch from a dead stop much stronger. I also want to 4cly/8cyl mode shut off. I never should have left it on. Thought I d get use to it but NAH.
