P.s. Pump Squeel & Column Noise

Guys, I have owned 7 new GM cars/trucks since 1985. Always had decent luck, until this turd. It is a 2005 Silvy ECSB 2WD with the 5.3. Has 43k miles on it, and been back 8 times for warrenty work. One of the items was last fall, the PS pump was hissing/whining, and the TSB said to flush system, and replace fluid with synthetic. I asked the service adviser why, and how that would cure it, and the best he could come up with was " I always change my PS fluid at 30k miles, yours has 34k on it". BS!!!

 

Anyway, it is now making that noise again. Hopefully, the dealer will stand behind thier work, and fix it for free, since it out of warranty.

 

Also, there is now a creak/moan coming fromthe column while turning the wheel. I have heard there is am issue with a spring in the airbag system, have any of you techs worked on this issue, what is it, and how tough is it to fix?

 

I see now, how Toyota has been beating Gm into the ground. Keep turning crap like this out, and I'll go to the dark side!
