Unless your throwing on a supercharger I would think you will be fine. I prefer automatic trans myself, hit the gas and go.

America has turned into a bunch of lazy slobs. I prefer manuals, and have sworn off a new GM truck until they bring it back.

I don't understand why people think automatics are so much better...a manual will net you better mileage, hold up to more power, and give you the freedom to shift where YOU feel appropriate, not where the computer 'thinks' it should.

Yeah... everyone that drives an auto trans is a lazy slob. :D

I have an auto and in no way can I be called lazy. Oh, by the way, I can also shift my 6 speed manually.

Hey...go f**k yourself. I am far from a lazy slob, 13 years USAF and still going. Before making comments like that you should think about what your doing. It's called an OPINION, and yes everyone does have one. I don't think one is better than another, it's all about preference. HAVE A NICE DAY:)

I have a 5spd man. Jeep and a 6spd man. Vette, but I much prefer the auto in my truck, traveling with my camper. Mark.

It seems if the Duramax had problems with the flywheel, thats what you should be asking about. It's very unlikely they shared flywheels. Mark.
