Hooker Aerochamber

Hey all,

I just finished installing a 3" Hooker Aerochamber mufler on my Suburban. It sounds really cool! It's not loud (I also installed a JC Whitney high flow catalytic converter), but it's got a nice rumble at idle and get's a bit loud when the engine gets into the upper RPM range. I was concerned that it would be too loud after listneing to a few clkips at youtube and the Holley website, but it's really nice.

I used a Sawzall and and an abrasive cut off wheel on an air grinder to get the old stuff off. I used exhaust clamps a few pieces of 3" pipe from Autozone to put it all together. I also bought the 3"tailpipe (from the muffler, over the axle, exit behind LR tire) from NAPA. I clamped the new pipes onto stock exhaust hangers; it looks and sounds good!

No sound clip yet. However, replacing the exhaust made a difference in gas milage! When I bought the truck I was getting 12 MPG on the highway, I replaced the tires and was getting 13 MPG. I've replaced the shocks and the exhaust system and got 16.6 MPG! WOOHOOO!!!! :D
