Battery Rundown

I was informed by GM that my truck VIN is involved in the Battery rundown TSB.

GM said that an "update" was available for my truck.

I went to the dealer & they said "oh yea that is a recall". I had a copy of the TSB,

she read it and said be sure to bring all my remotes because the BCM has to be reprogrammed.

I had the remote start installed last year & made sure my old non remote start key FOB's

were programmed for backups, giving me four remotes.

I read the TSB procedure & I don't think the FOBs are affected by this battery

reprogramming, but I may be wrong.

I am always hesitant about bringing my vehicle to the dealer, because I fear they will

do more harm than good, at least here. Such comments as recall & bring all remotes make

me think my battery will rundown quicker after they get through.

My truck is a year old and no problems with the battery yet.

Questions:

1. Will the BCM programming affect the remotes?

2. Did this procedure solve battery rundown problems on affected vehicles?
