Cruise Control Works Intermittently

I own 2002 Yukon XL and the cruise control only works 10% of the time it will not resume. Turn it off and drive for 5 or 10 minutes and you may get the cruise to come on. Brake and then switch to resume, and it won't resume. May or may not function when starting a new trip. Any thoughts or tips to look for.

Just curious if you've replaced the tail lights with LED lights ?

Ok. the reason I asked was that I tried LED tail lights a while back, and it caused the cruise to stop functioning.

Apparently it changes the load on the wire and the computer thinks you have the brake applied, thus it won't activate the cruise. That's what I was told anyways.

Thanks for the reply pwall, now you have me thinking, I replaced both brake light bulbs on the weekend, coincidence??? Have not tried cruise since putting in new bulbs, sure makes you wonder if their is a relationship between what you were told and the problem I'm having.
