Looking For Opinions

I know that this is the truck forum, but I was looking for some help. I am in the market for a new car for my wife, and am interested in the 2008 Malibu LT2. Does anyone, especially some of the inside GM guys on here have any opinions on this car? I am looking for any known issues with this car, i.e. leaks, rattles, TSBs, weird problems. I originally was looking at the 4 cyl honda accord, but I have read that they are having issues with them. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

The most common issue that I hear about is the potential for stick-slip. GM's previous requirements for their i-shafts left much to be desired, as most of their vehicles are prone to this issue. '09s are supposedly immune to it as they changed the i-shaft slip joints, but in my opinion, the jury is still out on that one.

I work for a chevrolet dealership, in all honesty, I don't see malibu's back that often, and when I do its oil changes and rotates.. I can tell you one thing though, they are designed to piss you off and take it to the dealer for work on it, honestly the most awkward engineered car I've ever seen. Changing the oil on these things is a bi**h. I'd buy one though, I've been watching the MPG's, and I havent seen one below 27 yet. The LTZ is a sweet car.

I personally have no input on the Malibu however.
