I sure this has been ask before and I have searched here and other sites but still have no idea who makes it for GM. The reason I ask is I have to get oil changed at dealer to get 'Tires for life as long as I own my truck" Just wondering what oil they use!

It varies by dealer. In most cases they will use whatever they can buy cheapest, unless you pay extra for something specific.

I would just do my own oil changes. Free tires, which will be cheapies again most likely, are not worth it in my opinion.

They use whatever they can get cheap in bulk. I've been around dealerships for many years... They will change brands from month to month so you never know what you are getting. I've even seen the 5W30 and 20W50 come out of the same overhead nozzle from one car to the next. You are better off if you do it yourself using premium oil and OEM filters. No matter if they offer "free" oil changes... you get what you pay for.

EDIT: I'm not cutting down dealerships... just telling you what I have actually seen myself.

GM Goodwrench oil is made by Mobil but it is not Mobil 1. All Mobil 1 oil is synthetic. Mobil clean, Mobil 5000 are Dino while Mobil 7500 is a blend.

Their bulk oil brands can vary, probably what they get the best deal on.
