Anyone Have Leaky Front Axel Leakage

On my 04 burb 4x4 the P. side frt axel shaft where it turn into the skinny shaft to wheel is damp and wet. i checked to oil level and its ok. I know it needs a new seal. Anyone else have this problem ?

Very common. replaced mine at 110,00 miles along with the wheel bearing hub, and brakes and rotors.

I have a crack in the master seal I think. Most of the fluid drained out. I'm not going to worry about it until fall when I need to start thinking about using 4wd again.

yup, had that problem last year with my '01 and had it fixed at a dealership for $350. It had about 65k miles on it and wasn't leaking too bad, just had a slight wet spot around the axle housing.

Yup. Same thing in my 05 burb, manufactured in 04.

 

Front axle leak turned out to be leaky front diff actuator. Dealer replaced it with part number 26060073. No charge under warranty, since I noticed the leak before original factory warranty expired.

The driver's side on my 04 H2 was leaking and replaced at around 20k miles.
