My 06 Silverado has been throwing this code lately.

P0016 - Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 1 Sensor A

Truck runs fine, no hesitation, runs smooth, still getting 22MPG. I cleared the code yesterday before leaving work, drove an hour home with no problems, no more codes. Woke up this morning, and truck threw this code as soon as I turned it on. Cleared it again, and drove an hour to work without the code being thrown again.

Would the engine not getting enough air cause this? The reason I ask is that my air filter was pretty clogged with fine dust, I'm at a fairly high altitude, and it has been hot lately so the air is less dense than it normally is here. I changed the filter last night in hopes that it would help, but I still got the error this morning.

Any other suggestions about what this could be?

Thanks

I tore apart the distributor, and replaced the cam shaft position sensor today. No luck, it still won't start. The next step that my all data subscription says to try is replacing the distributor. I don't have the time to replace the distributor on my own, I will take it in to the dealer to fix instead of doing that. Is there anything else that I should try first before taking it in? Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.
