haa, funny..I'm running those exact speakers (fronts and rears) that you are thinking about. They definately rock! I have a punch 4004 pushing those 4 and I have a punch 3002 pushing two 10" kickers in a truck box that I found online that fits them (stretches under the entire back seat). I had those 4 speakers hooked up to only the bose sub a while back and it sounded really nice. After a while, I decided to buy an after market Alpine deck along with those two 10" kickers and it's a LOTTTTT of base. Too much actually. It would have been nice to just put in one 10" under the back seat and take up half the space. The good thing is that I have the punch base knob and can turn the base up and down as I please.

I was just giving you a hard time because you knowingly and admittedly posted in he wrong area. It was a joke, relax.

If you want decent bass go with a component system up front instead. Some separate tweeters and mid basses will help with that.

I have these in my back and they sound pretty good running off the radio.

Don't know what's in the front. Prev owner installed them but I know that the are aftermarket.

I have 2 MTX 10s in a thunderbox under the back seat. The box is made for a dodge ram but the fit is close enough. I have to keep the bass turned down pretty low so it doesn't overpower the highs.

my thoughts are crutchfield charges twice the cost of a part. I always found what they are selling for half off somewhere else.

i agree

cruchfield listed my speakers at 79.99 plus s&h and i got some off ebay for 50 plus s&h

If you are looking for sound quality, fade to the front speakers and forget about the rear speakers. Unless you're doing a true surround sound setup, you're just wasting time and money by upgrading the rear speakers.

Unfortunately, no. If you are looking for more bass without adding a subwoofer, you really need to put some sound deadening in your doors and also seal the large holes in the panel as well. You just aren't going to get the bass you want if you don't do this.

That's 50 watts peak, a useless number. Your headunit puts out around 15 watts RMS in reality, that's barely enough to effectively power most aftermarket coaxial speakers. You might also want to seriously consider getting a good quality amplifier.

Look somewhere other than Crutchfield, they are usually way overpriced. Check out http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ and http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/

how big of amp would you guys recomend?

i dont need a very big one.. i dont really plan on putting a sub in so i just need to power 4 speakers

would something like this

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10299_...+Power+760.html

do the trick? or should i get a even bigger than 400 Watt?

or i guess i could get a more powerful / better amp and just use the speakers in there right now just dont turn it up very loud and save up for speakers then.....

just my opinion, I would not buy that amp (jenson). You pay for what you get. You may hook that up and it may sound okay, but increased distortion and over heating due to the quality of that amp. If you are looking to spend under $100 for an amp on those 4 speakers, check out Kenwood or even Sony.

I went with the punch series amps because I thought they run the best for their price range and the new style is very small. I was able to take out the back seat and mount them to the rear firewall. I have never had an overheating problem or distortion. Although they may be higher than your price range.

alright im kinda just learning but

how about this one?

and do you just run RCA into it and then have to connect all of the speaker wires to them little terminals?

i know i have to run a wire to battery and stuff, or is this pretty self explainitory when i recieve it?

Thats a 2channel amp, you either want a 4channel amp or 2 2channel amps. I was happy with my kenwood 1000w sub amp, really happy, but I also like my mtx, but not quite as much. There should be front pre-outs and rear pre-outs on the back of your deck, you run rcas from them to the amp(s) and then match the speaker to the input. It's quite simple, the best way to look at it is take the rms of your speakers add them all together and find an amp that can output that rms. Don't really pay attention to your peak, its preferable if the speakers peak is the same/higher than your amp will put out to prevent blowing them, but if youre smart with the volume knob you'll never have an issue.

As for power, you run a positive from your battery, I prefer at least 4ga, and then run a ground from somewhere close to the amp. You also need a turn on lead that will run from the back of your deck to the amp to tell it when to turn on, essentially a very low current is sent to the amp when the stereo is on to let it know it should be on. It's all very simple, I have no doubt you could do it Cody.

welli i updated the link, is a 4 channel 500W Kenwood

idk if you guys are still remember a gmt400, but in the center counsel you can take that the cup holder out and there is a ton of room down there... i was thinking up putting it in there..

so does that mean i have to extend all of the speaker wires to reach that?

and if so what Gauge wire would you recomend
