Adding Fog Lights To An Ls

Hey guys got an LS avalanche. Need to add aftermarket fog lights can I just tap into the low beam wires an be done with it? Just want to make sure the relay and fuse would be strong enough to handle low beams and fog. Also does anyone know the diameter of the opening looks to be like 3 1/2 inch. Thanks

As for the fog lights, you could tap the low beams, I suppose, but you might as well get some new relay harnesses so as not to overload the stock harnesses. Let the battery supply the power separately and the fogs should work trouble free and without worry. You'll also avoid losing your low beams should anything go wrong. The GMT900 Silverados are soon going to have an OEM light kit available, you might double check with MSDALE3 and see if there happens to be a kit for the older Avalanche as well.

I have done 2 of them to Silvy LS's (an 03 and an 04) and they are cake. The wiring harness comes with it and snaps into the headlight harness.

 

Comes with a new lower valance.

Forgot to add it's an 08 with the round holes already there;just have a cover that snaps out.

Not at all, Tobias. The GM kit is just clean, and the headlight harness has the connectors just hanging there waiting for you. The factory switch pops right into the dash panel and the conector is there for it.

Yeah, I saw 2005 in your sig and stopped reading. Still, check with MS3DALE and see if there's any chance of a kit for the Avy.
