Looking To Lift A 97 Blazer 4x4

I got a 97 Blazer 4x4 and looking to lift it at least 6 inches, maybe 9. I'm going to run at least 33's or 35's on it. Does anyone know the best kit to get, or does anyone have a kit they wanna sell? I'm looking for an installer friendly kit,(as i'll be installing it myself) and a budget priced kit. But I'd rather not do a body lift. Ride quality really wont be too big an issue as this will not be a daily driver, strictly for off roading. Any suggestions?

Before I bought my 08 Sierra I had an 03' ZR2 pickup, the best kits for the S/T series pickups and blazers are the BDS lift and the Superlift. the BDS is only a 5" lift and the Superlift is a 6 inch.

go with BDS. better kit, better service, better warranty.

 

you don't want to run any larger than 35's with the chevy IFS, or the first time you put it in 4wd, you will grenade the front diff (unless yours is iron and not aluminum.

 

you won't be able to yun a tire wider than a 12.50 without having less backspace, which is going to cause you to go thru ball joints, tie rods, idler & pitman arms, hub assemblies, etc like crazy. so you'll need to keep your rims close to stock spec, or get an account for front end parts.

 

really, you probably couldn't have chosen a worse vehicle to lift. it's why i got rid of my ZR2. chevy IFS sucks. if you are gonna thrash on it at all, do an SFA swap. D44 front, 9" rear will let you go up to 36-37" tires.

 

and don't bother with ZR2USA.com (i am Webmaster/Admin there), cuz unless you have a ZR2, none of the information on lifts will help because ZR2's are different than regular S10's. different frames, different suspension, different many things. check out s10forums.
