Alternator Whine

Got a really werid on About a month ago a friend of mine was sitting in the back of my 2002 tahoe informed me that my rear air was not working. Checked all the fused controls etc before finding a post on the rear air relay. Well I tapped on the relay and the air cranked back on then off, I then tapped it again and it did the same thing, on then off. WEll I decided to really tap it. When the fan kicked on I could see a bright spark inside the relay. At the same time my speakers started to pop. The rear crossovers that were mounted in the rear between the rear ac and back piller were lighting up before amp went into protection. We checked for everything, bad speaker, shorted speakers etc, After a few times of turning the car on and off while checking things the problem went a way? Now we were left with engine noise from hell. We have tried new radio, amp, rca cables grounds, bypassed eq, pro line driver, noise filter on radio, ground loop isolator on rca's etc. NOISE is still the same. This equipment was all in the car for about 4 years with no issues. Actually my tahoe sounded great and very clean. My only thought is that the voltage regulator may have gone bad, but I am not experienceing any abnormal voltage drops with diming lights etc. I dont want to drop money into a new alternator if thats not the fix, BUT WHAT IS.!!! Any suggestions will be greatly apreciated.
