89 K5 Blazer 350 What Exaust And Is Tune Needed After Install?

Ok I just got a really really clean 89 Blazer But its way to quite its lifted on 35" Boggers and all you can hear are the tires lol. NOT COOL!

Anyway Its got no Cat. and no Air pump all emissions have been removed. But it has a stock style single exaust on it :) Its super quite.

What system would you guys put on it?? True duals is what I was leaning toward off the stock manifolds ?? But what size pipe?? 2 1/4 seems to be whats being sold buy most companys I have found online. Seems big enough but is is it?? Should I go 2 1/2??

The motor is bone stock 290HP GM Crate with the factory TBI INJ. set up. Trucks getting about 13-15 MPG the way it sets Id like to see it stay that way lol.

Will the computer need to be tuned for the Better exaust???

Thanks for your help the truck seems to run a bit rich right now also.

First off, holy hell that truck is amazing. :D

Second, I'd try some local exhaust shops and see what they suggest. I wouldn't go any bigger than 2.5" pipe, you'd lose too much back pressure.

Cool and thanks but being the truck is fuel inj. does it need to be retuned?? Im thinking of putting a K&N Filter in the factory Housing. Its not a box witch is super cool its the old style carb set up just used on the TBI :fume:

LOve this thing!

Thanks for the props :D

2.5" true duals with Flowmaster Super 44s.

Im not a big fan of flowmasters people dont understand that they really create a lot of back pressure with there design and they make everything sound the same lol.

Ill probly go with the Areo chambers from hooker they sound good and have a very mellow sound to them they dont have that rattly sound to them like flows

Just have to decide on the pipe size 2.5 sounds right but I dont want to lose a lot of low end power either.

Im guessing I dont need to change anything in the computer since no one is say so so off to the muffler shop I go this weekend :)
