Resets Itself

I have a 1990 GMC G3500 van with a 5.7. I have been having an issue and I keep finding different characteristics of the problem. If it starts and runs rough, the simple quick fix is to shut it off and start it right back up and that fixes it, everytime. Just like it resets something. Does this tell anyone anything about where to look? Not sure but the fuel mileage seems to have went down as well.

Take the IAC motor out of the back of the throttle body and give it a good cleaning. They commonly stick and cause a rough idle/stall at start up. Once you re-start, they free themselves enough to work well enough. A good cleaning usually fixes this.

Thank you, I will try it and let you know.
