Help With Paint Issue!

Hello to all and a big THANK YOU for this wonderful site. I have been a GM owner for years and never knew of this site until recently. I have been lurking around for awhile. This is my first official post & question.

I have been "lazy" as it has been around 100 degrees here in GA. and the weather has cooled off some 15 degrees today and decided to wash both of my trucks so I could get a nice picture of both for my sig. When I was drying off the YD I noticed that the paint on the hood felt like sand paper  . I have never felt paint like this before. I have washed it many times before and have never noticed this.

So I had some 3M cleaner wax and I applied a coat and removed, help a little not much. I followed up by a coat of 3M high performace wax, a little better still rough. In many of the posts I have noticed many of you talking about clay bar? I had never heard of this till on this site. Do you think something like this would help out? I have invested a lot of money in the YD and my Sierra and plan on having them for years to come. Any advise or help is appreciated!

P.S. I have always made sure each was waxed atleast once every six months.

If it's a 2007 it's hard to believe the paint could be in very bad shape is such a short time. I'd agree with the clay bar suggestion. Couldn't hurt and will probably help a lot!

Also do a search on Zaino wax. If you want your wax to last for 6 months and get an incredible shine, you can't go wrong!

Thanks for the replies. I got a clay bar system and it did the trick. Back up to spec now. I was surprised as to how bad it was, we bought it a month after the Sierra and it isn't like that. I spent all day on the YD, I guess it's time to do the truck tommorow.

Thanks for updating. We usually never know if our "suggestions" fix a problem.
