So Lame!

After getting back from our family vacation I thought I'd drop by the dealer to check on the status of the new Tahoe. Previously my sales guy said September. So on Monday I stopped by to check. The sales guy went off for a bit and came back saying the build date was in mid October now, with delivery in November. Since it was ordered on July 7, four months seems a little long considering there are already 09's on sales lots in the US. Maybe something to do with it having to be a Canadian vehicle. What ever the reason, it still sucks...

Indeed that does suck. You ordered it 4 months ago? That must feel like an eternity to you! When I got my truck, waiting 3 days for it to come in from the island was painful and felt like forever.

Which dealership are you going through? That does suck, waiting for a vehicle. I have always dealt with Dave Wheaton GMC, but there are days where I question my decision to go with them. Oh well, hope the truck comes in sooner then later.

I ordered it back on July 7, from that point it will take about 4 months. :D

Yeah, it will seem like an eternity till it arrives. The sales guy did say that my wife's Cobalt will arrive much sooner. Like that is any consolation for me.

If I had been in your shoes, I would have found out the exact day and time it was coming over so that I could have hopped that ferry and checked it out on the ride back over. :D

...and here I thought doing dealer searches to find just what I wanted and having to drive 50 miles across town to get it was bad!

In all seriousness, 4 months seems to be a loooong time to wait. I doubt I have that much patience. Best of luck! Post pics when you get the truck!

I'm going through Jenner, where I got my current Tahoe, and it's close by home. Eventually it'll arrive. They say good things come to those who are patient.

Don't think for a second that didn't cross my mind :D

I was going to just go out to the island to do it myself, though with damn ferry prices going up that would have cost me $ just to do it. The worst part is that you know where it is, you know its yours yet you cant put your hands on it. I was more or less pulling my hair out until my dealer called me and told me it was in.

I have a natural love for black vehicles even though it's like brain surgery to keep them clean. John the the salesman that I deal with got a blue one in and told me to come down and take a look at it as he figured I would be pleasantly pleased with it. I grabbed is and took it for a spin but just couldn't alter my original decision on the Onyx Black. In the past I've opted not to get things since cost was a issue and walked away happy but not entirely fulfilled. This time I stuck to my guns and when the day came and the truck arrived John called me up and said "this thing looks like it's melting in the showroom, good call on choosing the black". I have never driven so fast to a dealership in my life, and 9 months later I have never been happier with my choice.

Well.. except for that truck prices came down after that... :D

Your new Tahoe is only built in Arlington TX or Janesville WI Canada only builds pickups.

I still don't think it can compare to the beauty of a clean black truck. I looked at one and they are indeed nice, but black when it has that wet look just beats out the competition hands down! IMO of course :D

I think what he might was the fact that its going to be a "Z49" Canadian Market Tahoe (IE Built for the Canadian Market) Not that its going to be built in Canada.

But you have one now and that's all the matters right? :D

Z49 is only DRL, KO5 , and metric cluster. Unless there is a hold on the Canadian option the dealer has no allocations for a vehicle.
