Service expert, Just bought 06 Sierra Duramax. Expect to take to Mexico, Central America and South America for extended periods of time. We spend most of our time in the back woods, mountains and other places where there are no GM Dealers or competent service shops, but with the internet we can get parts shipped in if needed. What specific diagnostic tools, will I need to bring along to keep my Duramax running where no dealers or service shops exist? Where can I buy the diagnostic tools? Thanks for you help. Tom

Diagnostic tools, how much money do you want to spend? The most basic starter tool is a tech 2 with candi module that's going to run you about four thousand dollars. I would keep a bunch of fuel filters on hand.
