I'll say it again you ****ing idiots, that was an April Fools joke.

I have about had it with you calling names. That thread has info pertaining to what he MIGHT want to have checked, AND THEN later in the thread you came off with "it's just a joke".

This wasn't for your benefit.

Go play, will ya?

thanks for the info guys!

Do a search for 'cold start knock' or 'piston slap'. It's very common on GM engines, and 99.9% of the time it does absolutely no damage. :D

there is a ticking noise when cold start then when warm it stops any ideas?

Zak,

Does it happen longer then 5 or 10 seconds or is it very brief? If it is brief, there is no reason to be concerned. If it lasts a while, it could be the lifters. There is a TSB regarding the lifters but very few people have had that problem. Most anyone who has the tick has the more benign type.

No offense Jas...I have stayed out of the 'party' for the most part...most regulars here know me for all the stuff that I was willing to help with (and post information about until GM found out), which means I have an ok reputation with the forum (although I know that I annoyed a few members with all the posts). What I remember is you saying that you do a couple of burn outs (everybody here has done some now and again), your truck squeaks, and your defroster not working properly. I wont even go into the ticking concern. What I do remember is actually posting information on how to work the defroster, looking up squeaking TSBs and trying to assist with getting your issues addressed. What I ended up reading was "This truck sucks....Ford is better" (Paraphrased from multiple threads). Seriously, if the ticking noise was an april fool's joke, then perhaps you would understand when I say, "What the ****!!!" "Why the **** would you complain about the truck and then tell everyone here that Ford is better and then ask for help?!?!?!?" That is like you telling a cop to **** off at the local donut shop cause he got in your way and then that same cop pulls you over and you asking him for a break on the ticket...

Isn't the TSB for the lifters on the AFM motors? I might just be too tired, but doesn't the 6.2 in the Denali not have AFM?
