I havd an 2007 Chevy Silverado. I leveled my truck and took off the lower piece on the front bumper. I am going to be doing a long road trip I was wondering if anybody has had any problems with running hot or anything while driving on long distances.

Don't think that valance means squat, at least temperature-wise. I've run long trips (500 miles) in humid 90-degree weather with and without that piece of plastic and don't remember a difference.

i would think it would improve mileage, and make the truck more stable at higher speed. the more air that gets underneath, the more aerodynamic drag you will have, in addition to increasing air pressure which creates lift.

leave it on.

It will NOT make your truck overheat by removing it. If you want it gone, remove it. If you want it there, leave it. Plenty of guys here have removed them and it causes no problems at all. These engines are designed to run in a myriad of different conditions. Two inches of plastic and the air it shapes will not make enough difference to cause a problem, period.

Besides the temp tags and the dealer branding on the tailgate, that was the first thing to be removed from the truck when it came home.

I noticed mine was 1/2 gone (cracked & ripped off) by the end of the first weekend with my truck. So i tore the rest of it off. Obviously it's a little too low where it was.
