What possible causes are causing my serpitine belt to squeak during the first say 2 min. in the morning? i have now 37,000 miles. Tried belt dressing, could it be the belt tensioner going bad, need new belt? trying to get some ideas

My 2000 did it also. When I decided to order a new belt, the part munber on the belt had been changed. This makes me think that there was a design/material problem with that one. It never squeaked again after I replaced the belt.

Even with the adjustable tensioner, the belt may have been too small as 2001 HD mentioned in the number changes and therefore squeak until it warms up.

Due to it being tight in the pulley grooves, it may have hardened and glazed the serpentine grooves which would cause a little slippage and as such a squeaking.
