Best Replacement Exhaust For 8.1l ?

Hey all, I have an 02 Yuk XL 2500 with the 8.1L (496 BB) and 410s. I am thinking about replacing the OEM muffler and tailpipe to increase performance. What might be the best aftermarket exhaust to buy? I don't want it to be very noisy---just increase the power overall. Thanks.

Try magnaflow..They even have sound clips to help.

on my 2500hd 8.1 i recently installed one of flowmasters dual in single out in place of my stock muffler. its actually pretty quite still just a little louder than stock but with a decent tone. at cruising speeds you can barely here it. i dont know what series it is probably 50 series. as for performance gains i dont know if it gained me much of anything.

I had Magnaflow duals out the back until this past summer. I was very happy with them and intended to buy them again, only downside was the resonation. I took it back to the shop since they had rusted out (lasted 6-7 years which I thought was pretty good but I'm no expert) and the owner talked me into trying Flowmasters. He had them on his truck so we took a short drive. I think he said something about them having developed something for the big block Chevy's since I had originally installed the Magnaflows. IMO the sound is not as aggresive as the Magnaflows but I don't have the resonation either. I went ahead and had them replace the exhaust on my 99 as well. To be truthful, I am a little skeptical and wonder if they will last as long as the Magnaflows.

Well "best" is pretty subjective, but I had a Gibson Swept Side cat back system installed about three years ago and have not had any problems with it. I did notice a small gain in performance, but nothing to blow your socks off. You’ll probably notice it more with the big block though. The sound was perfectly tuned…nice and deep, but not too loud.
