Metra 99-4544 And Attaching Aftermarket Hu To Mounting Kit Plastic

I have an aftermarket head unit I am trying to install using the Metra 99-4544 kit. I need the front of the head unit to be out as far as possible so when I put the faceplate on it clears the dash trim. It is a Power Acoustik head unit. I have attached the two sides to the kit that allows it to slide and lock into the dash on my 2002 Sierra, but how do I attach the headunit inside the plastic kit (where to put screws, etc). Thanks guys and if you have pictures that would be awesome also.

I think you would have been better off with the Metra 99-3002 kit.

 

To attach the HU to the kit, there should be a mounting sleeve included with the HU that fits around it. Take this sleeve off the HU and slide it into the kit. Around the sides of the sleeve, there should be several tabs. Bend these tabs up to secure the sleeve to the kit, then slide the HU into the sleeve.
