Another Seafoam Question

Sorry to whip a dead horse here fellas...

I searched but couldn't find anything...

I'm doing a tuneup this weekend, and I wanted to know if it's safe to spray the original seafoam via a spray bottle directly into the TB with the engine running.

Or is it better to keep the engine off, and pour a little down.. turn it over, pour some more down.. turn it over etc.

I tried to find some of the deep creep stuff, but every parts store I checked was out of stock.

all I found was stuff pertaining to the "deep creep" seafoam, not putting the liquid into the TB

Unless you have a pressure can so you can dump in the Seafoam, add air pressure and spray it, I would not attempt it.

To proplerly clean the valves and combustion chamber, the Seafoam needs to go in while the engine is running. The problem is that you need to keep the air intake boot in place while doing this or you will likely set a code because no air will be flowing through the MAF Sensor.

I would suggest you wait until you can find some Deep Creep. You can drill a small hole in the intake tube, ingest the Deep Creep via the straw while the engine is running at a high idle and then close the hole up with a small screw when finished.

Hydrolock can occur when using Seafoam, chances are greater when ingesting it through a vacum line such as the brake booster line. However, it would be very difficult to do this in a V8 motor while ingesting it via a spray can through the intake. Just use a little common sense and listen to the motor while doing it.

Seafoam now offers a 24" straw to be used to foam the intake runners while the engine is not running.

I used the Deep Creep via a small hole drilled in the intake tube. Had my son hold a fast idle and used about half the can.

This process smoothed out my idle and fixed a bad idle surge I would get when I turned on the A/C. Dealer was clueless on how to fix the surge.

Easy process with great results.

I was able to find a can of deep creep.

I ran a can of the liquid in my gas, 1/2 in my oil, 1/2 in a vacum line, and 1/2 a can of deep creep via the intake.

Idles alot smoother, and it got rid of some minor knocking on cold start up.

2 thumbs up for Seafoam

If you did not already change your oil go ahead and do it real soon.. The Seafoam will disolve and release soe nasty stuff into your oil.

I'm going to do that this weekend.

Thanks for the help buddy
