Hi all. My name is Rick and I have just joined. Does anyone have any info on a vibration felt in the steering wheel from the front end of a 2004 Silverado. Also< i am having troubles with my instrument cluster. The speedometer sometimes does not work. Thanks

Your vibration could be a lot of things: alignment, wheel weight/balance, warped rotor, driveshaft, i-shaft, etc.

 

Since you are new, we'll need lot of pics of your truck and details about it, what mods you've done to it and what you plan on doing to it.

The vibration felt in the steering wheel might be the intermediate steering shaft,Its usually described as a "Clunk" in the wheel,very common issue,they have come out with a new revised shaft (Part#19153614) we haven't seen any issues with the new one.

The vibration could also be wheel/tire balance or brake rotors.

The I/P cluster problem is another very common issue,GM is covering some of them under a "special policy" bulletin for 7 years/70,000 miles,You might want to give your dealer a call and let them look at it.

Welcome to the forum, about the instrument panel the way I solved the problem on my 2003 Suburban was by buying a new instrument panel. I got a letter from GM to take my Suburban in so they would fix the problem, but by the time I got the letter I had already traded in my 2003 for a 2007 Suburban.
