08 Sierra 1500 Sle2

I bought an 08 GMC sierra SLE2, Tx edition. I wanted nav/dvd and the dealer had to add it to the truck.

Once getting it, I realized it is the system that doesn't play dvd's. They claimed you can only add that

radio if you have the rear seat entertainment system (which I don't).

Was this true that they can only add the non playing dvd nav radio?

Second question: The voice recognition for the navigation, changing channels as listed in the owners manual and navigation manual, does not work. It prompts for the voice by press the steering wheel button, but times out saying no voice detected.

The dealer said this vehicle isn't wired for that and is only for the Denali trim, this coming after them having the truck for a week. It seems all it would need to work is the nav unit mic wire being connected to the onstar mic wire?
