2008 Gmc Grille Emblem Removal

dcsrobin

Question

Posted

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra with a RED plastic emblem on a Danali style grille.

I would like to remove the Red on Silver GMC emblem from the grille without breaking it. I see the seam where the emblem and the grille attach. but I would appreciate knowing how to do it properly. I could contact my local dealer but thought your answer might help someone else as well.

Thank you

Daddy has a merit badge in badge removal. Badge removal instructional video tapes are coming soon. (he's not hip enough to do DVDs yet)

On the back side of the grill you'll see the plastic clips that hold it in place. Those clips are part of the emblem so be careful. In the pic below you can see the slots where the clips go.

Thanks Daddy. My browser did not show the picture you posted, but I get the idea. I will remove the plastic cover above the grill and take a look.

Thanks very much

Hey daddy (that doesn't seem right to type that!? :dunno: )...

Does this same "plastic clip" scenerio work on the 08 Sierra Denali's too!? I covered my big a$$ red GMC grille letters with black for the time being. I was hoping to buy a logoless grille for it but they aren't availbale yet that I've found. But, if I can just take the stock GMC logo off I'd be fine with that!

Thanks in advance!

EDIT...sorry, after submiting this ? I noticed that dcsrobin mentioned a Denali styled grille...but wasn't sure if it was in fact an ACTUAL stock Denali grill or aftermarket one!?
