Noise Under Dash

Recommended Posts

The is an intermittent noise coming from under the drivers dash. The best way to explain it is it sound like someone thumping the spring on the top of a 6V (deer feeder) battery. It does not matter if the truck is moving or parked. It will go away for a long while and just magically return. Any ideas on what it could be?

84K miles, so warranty not an option.

Thanks in advance,

I know there was a gage cluster issue with some models. Anyone think this could be it?

Those little HVAC control modulators (the motors that move the HVAC doors) make some random noises from time to time. It actually annoys me from time to time.

Mine does that and it comes from the bottom of the dash on the pass side. I guess its must be the HVAC system. Does that mean its going out or does it just do that?
