Funny... But, true!

And it starts young, too!

A few weeks back, I was heading to one of the local fast food joints for lunch. I decided to meander through the neighborhood, rather than get out on one of the main roads. As I eased up to a 4-way stop, a guy in a late-model F-150 4x4 pulled through the intersection.

His son... maybe 6 years old, started hopping up & down in his seat, yanking on his dad's shirt sleeve, "Dad! Dad! Look! LOOOOK!!!!" as he pointed at my truck. The dad kind of furrowed his brow a little, as he looked at his son.. and then at what his son was pointing at. He got a smile on his face for a moment, as he looked at my truck. And then the smile seemed to go away, as he seemed to realize that his son liked my truck better than his truck.

I smiled, waved, and went on my way... :D

I enjoyed the link. Thanks!

Aside from liking a 2wd, that kid's got good taste.

By the way, when did you get the shackles on? :D

Hey, we really don't "need" 4WD as much down here. So, I don't see what the big deal is. 2WD with a locker will serve "most" people's purposes down here. :D

I got the shackles put on a couple of weekends ago. I've been waiting for a certain photo op to present itself. But, it hasn't happened yet.. Well, that's not true. It did happen last week, but I waited too long...

I think I'll try to head out around sun-down this evening (if the skies are cooperative) and try to get some shots at dusk, down by where the trains come through... We'll see. I'd like a better (brighter) sig pic than what I have right now. That set of pictures didn't turn out like I had planned.

Oh well! That's one of the great things about digital. It doesn't cost anything to take more pictures and check 'em out on the monitor! That does give me an idea, though. I might charge up the laptop and take it with me, so I can check out the pictures while I'm still there and re-shoot things, as necessary. Thanks, Dan!

EDIT : After getting used to seeing mine with the shackles on it, "ass in the air" trucks just do not look right to me at all anymore. Maybe Tobias is the same way about trucks with badges. I don't know. But, the "stock" stance of these GMT-900's is kind of annoying to me, now that mine ISN'T all "up in the air" like it was.

I'm just messin with ya on the 2wd thing. :D And I'm looking forward to the pictures, your truck's always fun to look at. I can never take any night shots though, my camera sucks WAY too much, there's always ridiculous amounts of noise.

Yeah, I was pretty sure you were just givin' me grief about the 2WD thing. Going 4WD or AWD just didn't make sense for me, when I bought mine...

I have a pretty decent camera. I've been thinking about upgrading it. But, I've been spending my 'camera' money on the truck... So, maybe after I get the tune and a few other things done, maybe my 'slush fund' will build back up some and I can either look at new lenses or a new camera or both...

Yeah I really want a DSLR, but I don't have the moneys. Come to think of it, there's a LOT of stuff that I want, but can't afford.

Yeah, I bought a Canon Digital Rebel (DSLR) about 4 yrs ago. I like it. But, there are newer cameras, with more bells & whistles that I'd like to have. Unless I come into some money, though, I figure I'll use this one til it dies and then get another camera that'll work with the lenses I've picked up.
