Hi All

This the new guy from Northwest Montana. I have a 95 Tahoe with a 5.7 liter V8 with 195,000 miles on it. Recently, when my wife went to drive it would be in 3rd gear off of the line and half of the gauges would not work. That same evening went out to check it out a few hours later and it was fine. My wife then told me this is the 3rd time it has happened. Any ideas?

Welcome aboard.

Mid 90s GM trucks were notorious for corroded battery cables. They corroede internally, so looking at the outside didn't always show the problem. Perhaps a ground cable is corroded? It should ground both body and engine solidly. Just a thought.

:dunno: Bad grounds can be stubborn.

:withstupid: For me the side terminal battery post had cracked and broken inside the battery which caused all sorts of weird issues with the Tahoe. The problem wasn't readily visible till I gave that battery cables a good check over.

Oh!! Hi there and welcome to GM Trucks! :dunno:
