Hey guys, I saw this forum pop up while I was on FSC. I have been a member over there since February and figured I would join up here to see what it's like. I work at Stylin Trucks in sales and have for over 2 years, and well as a full time college student at Cleveland State University. Bought by truck just about a year ago (next week will be a year to be exact) and it has gone through huge transfers from looks and all. Heres the run down:

2008 Chevy Silverado ECSB 5.3L Z71

Debadged

Corsa RSC Sport Exhaust

K&N Intake

Edge Evolution Programmer

Keystone Twin Scoop Ram Air Hood

35% tint all around, and 13% strip on windshield

Readylift leveling kit (still need to put on a piece to get another inch though)

Gaylord's X2000 Tonneau Cover

Bed Rug

Smoked tail lights and third brake light

PIAA lights mounted behind grille

Caltrend Sport Neoprene Seat Covers (to protect my leather from my dog, bastard)

-I bought Pro Comp 7005 Series wheels last week, there black, waiting for those to come in.

-My next big purchase will be Dynatech LT headers and the high flow cats and then I will get a datalogged tune from Blackbear.

-I am also trying to sell my Westin Platinum Series step bars so I can pick up the Go Rhino Dominator II's in black to match the all black theme and the wheels.

-And I am selling my factory wheels, buying the HD towing mirrors, and dropping it back off at the shop to get the mirrors, lower bumper, and all 3 handles painted.

Here are some pics, let me know what you think!

Welcome!

Sweet truck......

How do the extra lights work in the grill ? Do they make a real difference ? I've been thinking of adding additional lighting to my truck, never thought of putting them behind the grill. I want something real bright for night driving in 'moose' country.

Thanks bud!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the lights too. lol. Those are some PIAA driving lights, if you pop off that little shroud above your grille shell, and look behind it, you will see 2 little tabs, one on each side, that's where they are mounted too right now. BUT, are not functional because they mount to close to the shell. I just haven't had time to fab the little bracket I need to build, even though it is simple, all you need is flat stock to move the lights back at most an inch, and bolt the flat stock to the openings, and the lights to the flat stock and they will work perfect. The lights I got back there are some of PIAA's best and even though there angled to the tops off trees right now, there bright as hell! I would highly recommned doing it that way for sure.

Thanks man! Lake Farm Park has got all the little kids shops like clothing and toys right? If so, my gf and her sister and nephews go out there all the time for shopping!

I also work another job for my gf's dad doing custom landscape curbing and we had a job in Kirtland in June and we were out there for 2 days! It is about 45 minutes from where I live, I live in North Royalton, like 10 miles south of Clevland.

BTW guys, these are the wheels going on in the next week or two. There are just going to go on the tires I have on there now since they only have 18K miles on them and still over half the life left!

Nah, Stylin' Trucks has been around for 21 years this year. We haven't always been in Indpendence though, but we have been here for 10 years, or longer. I am not exactly sure when they moved here to be exact.

You ever hear about it?

Edit: USED to be Stylin' Concepts but with a new owner last year came a new name.

I used to get your catalog in the mail periodically, but haven't gotten one in a few years now. Did you stop mailing them out?

Nah, we still send them out. If you don't buy stuff in a while though they have been taking people off the mailing list because we are looking for ways to save money and all. Each catalog costs us like 7 dollars to send out and if it doesn't help they stop sending them out. If you would like, there is a call in cataloge request line and you can get them sent again.

    • I am sure that was quite the pass experience and not a great place to experience during the winter when the conditions are not good. I've seen video of that pass and also more detailed information and pictures about the wrecks at that one hair pin turn where tractor trailers have flown right off the cliff and I am sure from all the warning signs that you know the exact curve that was !. After all there is a reason why a song was made about Wolf Creek Pass !. By the way and I didn't realize this either when I bought my truck as its nothing I even thought of that would be programmed into the cruise control and this occurs in either the basic or the more advanced cruise that controls your distance behind a vehicle and that is the brakes going down a hill are being applied as soon as the vehicle goes a certain speed over the set cruise speed. While it certainly does force downshifts in the transmission as you found out with cruise on while going down hill, its also dragging the brakes as needed to keep the speed controlled to what the cruise was set to. For me, I find that unsettling simply because I have no concept then as to how MUCH brake input is being used a and just how hot are those brakes getting and the wear factor as well. I can see that system getting a person into trouble on long mountain grades while pulling a trailer as it would not only be standing on the brakes of the pickup without any driver input, it would also be automatically applying the trailer brakes and it could cause a run away unit by overheating the brakes. Its one thing on a shorter hill and if the driver allows it to do its thing but on a long mountain grade is where things could get so out of hand. As someone a while back on this forum said, they had someone following them at night I believe on a down grade and had the cruise set and the person behind them could see the brake lights being energized all the way down the hill. I figured when I saw your comment that you didn't know and would have no way of knowing that your truck was applying the brakes and that you would and rightfully so assume you only used the brakes when you pressed on the pedal to slow down more than the cruise set speed for the slower sharp curves. So its good knowledge to know this about the newer GM trucks, certainly when doing any descending on long mountain grades. In the future try kicking off the cruise and use the the manual mode on a pass to see what that is like as I know myself when I first experienced it I thought no way can this engine be holding me back this well and tried the same hill in manual mode and sure enough the engine was revving way up and still could not hold the trucks speed down like it could in cruise mode.    Fuel mileage, that is where a really low sleek type of car can do better at higher speeds, certainly it starts sucking fuel too but a tall pickup is pushing massive amounts of air and also allowing a lot more air under it and the tow mirrors as in elephant ears pushing through the wind  as well. Driving like grandpa is about as good as one can do when driving one of these if trying to get the best fuel economy they can. I bet these trucks would get the best mileage they can if driven on a freeway in Florida if not busy traffic at a sedate speed and that sea level elevation without hills, vastly different then Colorado !.
