Need Help Changing Rear Drum Brakes On 05 Silverado

I have done the front disc brakes by myself several times, but I have never done the rear drum brakes. I didn't know they still had drum brakes on them. My truck is a 05 Silverado 4WD Z71. Does anyone have any pointers on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing I do when buying a vehicle is to buy a repair manual so when I need to do some work on it I'll already have it..Haynes is the most common. In this manual it will show how to do the work.Only do one side at a time so you can refer to the other side if you have a problem. You'll also need to have the drums turned before re-assembling,(if there's still enough metal left). Most parts shops do this for $10 -$20 per drum. Also be sure to keep the new shoes clean...no grease or dirt from your hands.I've done my own brakes for years and never had a problem.Be sure to have a can of brake parts cleaner handy.I also like to scuff up the new shoes a little with some 100 grit sandpaper before installing. You should get some brake tools too

don't breath the dust, very bad for you, hope this helps, let me know
